Nicole + Jeff’s Balboa Park Wedding
Nicole + Jeff are two of the most creative people we know. They have the coolest jobs and the best senses of humor. Basically, we want to grow up to be just like them. Their engaging personalities and unique sense of style made their wedding day sparkle from every angle. (If you haven’t seen their rugged engagement session, you should check that out first: HERE)
A tip for those of you who get one of our custom Signature Books made for you: have the wedding party sign it before the craziness of the day.
Nicole’s precious grandma made it for the special day, and caught a moment to congratulate the bride.
Nicole teaches jewelry design (amazing job, right??) and lent her talent to the creation of her elegant wedding set.
Jeff works as a modeler for Legoland (sub-zero cool), and his boutonniere had a Lego man in it! To add even more awesomeness, each of his guys had a Lego man in his boutonniere that corresponded to his likes or personality. Amazing!
As usual,
Third Bloom did an amazing job. Orchids in a palette of lime and purple made a great color scheme– with all the drama of nature.
One of the first things you notice about Nicole + Jeff is how great they are to their friends. They listen intently, and care deeply about the people in their lives. In return, their closest friends and family warmly celebrated their day, and supported them.
Time out before the hoopla begins.
This is what happens when a creamy dessert and retro fashion get together. Yum.
The first look!
Gotta love this reaction…
The party walked from Alcazar Gardens to the Botanical Gardens….
…where they took time out for some intimate shots among the leaves.
Classic Balboa Park.
Then we headed down to Zoro Gardens for the heartfelt ceremony.
We love guest participation. This audience was more than happy to get involved with some readings.
Check out the Lego dudes.
Locking it down.
The moment…
It’s official!
Nicole’s girls got to express their individual styles, too, with dresses unique to them in jewel tones.
This great crew specifically wanted to get a little crazy.
While guests headed to cocktail hour, and artisanal cupcakes awaited in the reception, it was time to commemorate their first few moments as husband and wife.
Jeff and Nicole chose the
Museum of Photographic Arts for their reception. They were surrounded by Ansel Adams’s representations of nature, for which they share a common passion. And we were kinda in heaven here.
The girls bustle Nicole.
Time to party! The couple boogied into their Grand Entrance.
Guests enjoyed a hilarious version of “The Newlywed Game.”
And a few words were spoken.
Pictures from their adventures greeted guests at their tables.
Conga line!
Jeff’s guys took the opportunity to express their inner Ninja Turtles during the night.
Yes! Gooey AND chocolate! It’s cake time, people.
Jeff’s mom couldn’t have been prouder.
Celebrating successful marriages with the Anniversary Dance.
Loved ones balanced the newlyweds for a Hora.
Outside MoPA, the two were inseparable.
What a stunning night.
Nicole and Jeff, we were honored to be a part of your wonderful, wacky, beautiful, elegant, totally amazing day. It reflected who you are as individuals and as a couple. Best wishes to two truly lovely people.
