Symbolic Motors Hosts Cars + Coffee in Sorrento Valley

You’d expect to see rare, exclusive, and powerful machines at a car show.  Symbolic Motors took that to a new level at their latest “Cars + Coffee” gathering.

A few hundred car owners and enthusiasts gathered.

Classic and classic…er.

Despite all the amazing vehicles, this one pulled up and was instantly swarmed.  If you know the car, you probably understand. This Muira had me captivated.  It’s not often you have a chance to see a Lamborghini – or any car – priced north of $2 million.  Especially when it’s older than I am.  This SVJ (Jota) beautifully represents what many consider to be the birth of the Supercar. Another one of those incredibly rare and important cars.  The Bugatti EB110 Super Sport.

As a lifelong Lambo fan, I’m thrilled to see the latest design gracefully embody the aggressive yet elegant sleek wedge the company is known for.

Longitudinale Posteriore.  Turning the engine sideways for a more efficient design in the early 70s.  No big deal… just another game-changer.

Americans occasionally make great cars.  The Ford GT definitely helps the US hold a candle to the pack.

Gotta love that Porsche Speedster windshield.

Hello, Veyron.

Okay… I guess I just couldn’t stop taking photos of the Muira!

These two hot girls were given a dusting of Porsche exhaust.  The one on the right is my tiny wife and to her left is our friend, Sarah.

So many faces and lenses fixed on this Veyron…

But when this Pagani Huayra pulled in, the rest of the cars became temporarily invisible.  Kellye and I saw a Zonda when we were in Switzerland, but we’ve never met someone who has laid eyes on any Pagani here in the states.  At this moment, that changed.  Most of humans in this shot are complete car/camera nerds.  Just like me.

A couple minutes later, this 918 rolled in and stole half the crowd.  This is no ordinary Porsche – if there is such a thing.  This car is a hybrid… but not in the happy Earth-saving kind of way.  The electric motors (plural) bring the total horse power to over 800.  800!

And the attention to detail doesn’t disappoint.

The mob walking with the car was trailed by this drone, which was undoubtedly getting a great shot of those amazing roof-mounted exhausts.

This Huracan packed it’s angry eyes.
