Krista + Scott Get Married

When San Diegans Krista and Scott wanted a romantic setting for their March nuptials, they thought of the historic San Juan Capistrano area in Orange County, CA. Set on the weekend that the swallows were set to make their fabled return, the couple’s day was full of retro, old-Hollywood style.

Yeah, you’re seeing that right. That is an artichoke in that bouquet. Cool, right?

A bevy of beauties helped Krista prepare for the big event.

Even the most intimate details were all set to go….

And the dress! Bejeweled by beads, this elegant dress is heavier than it looks, and totally worth it.

You gotta have some sassy shoes…

Krista’s mom pinned into her crinoline a very special “something old:” a little heart charm that was her very first gift from Krista’s dad during their courtship.

Krista got to carry a little of her parents’ romance with her all day.

We LOVE bridesmaids’ dresses that have a little independent spirit! Krista’s colors were also too cool for school: an elegant grey with pops of orange (check out her sister’s shoes!!!).

A mom-and-sisters shot– no one makes you laugh like your sisters.

This grand staircase at the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach gave us a little getaway for Krista’s stunning bridals.

Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready and giving Scott some last-minute advice.

Waiting patiently for her love…

She made a stunning bride.

Her groom wasn’t too shabby either…

St Regis offered so many pockets of beautiful light and quiet elegance to showcase Krista.

The First Look!

We’re always so happy when our couples see each other before the ceremony – especially when they have a chance to make it  a special and memorable moment.

He’s still sweeping her off her feet.

And then we took a little detour into the wine cellar…

Stonehill Tavern is a dead-sexy restaurant inside the St. Regis, and Scott and Krista stopped traffic there.

Then we headed off to the Casino San Clemente, a historic venue in Orange County. Our couple was married in the venue’s Rock Garden, and their guests enjoyed the festivities in its airy Grand Ballroom.

Family was tearing up the mic with some PreCeremony entertainment.

Great coordinators make for great wedding days. We have to give a shout-out to the couple’s coordinator, Katherine of Events by Katherine, who did an amazing job.  She worked tirelessly with us for months before the event to make sure everything went perfectly.  Event planners – and Katherine in specific – are worth their weight in gold.  And… we were privileged enough to shoot her wedding a few years ago!

Awaiting the arrival of the bride

Scott’s mom and dad watch as their son’s bride makes her way.

Could this papa be any prouder?

We love the little jewels of emotion hidden in a wedding day….

That, by the way, is about the cutest face we’ve seen a bride make!

Scott’s parents also looked so happy and proud.

It’s official…

And we couldn’t be happier.

This ultra-awesome wedding party humored us with shots at the old movie theatre next door.

Yep, they’re super stars.

Kritsa and Scott, starring in their own romance.

Meanwhile, the Grand Ballroom was warmly lit and welcomed the wedding guests.

The guests of honor at their grand entrance.

Ready to party!

Plenty of great toasts!

The sun sets on San Clemente.

But the party is just getting started.

Krista (with dad in the background) dropped a couple inches…

and their dance proved that warmth and sense of humor run in the family.

Scott and his mom charmed onlookers.

Cake time!

Girls just wanna have fun…

As the party continued, Krista and Scott took some time out for what matters most.

Congratulations, Krista and Scott!  You had an amazing day and we were so privileged to be there with you!
