Serena + Tony Portrait Session

What kind of couple has a “just-because” photo shoot?  The kind who are awesome and in love – that’s who!  Enter Serena and Tony.  We met this amazing pair on the day of their engagement shoot in 2009.  Fast forward a bit and you’d never know this isn’t another engagement session.  They’re just as in love as they were on day one.  And we’re beginning to think we’re gonna run out of fingers for the shoots we’ve done together.  We wouldn’t have it any other way.

We recently got together at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, CA and spent some time just celebrating them.  We went off the usual beaten path over there and got a bit dirty, but Serena and Tony have never been the kind to wimp out for some great images.  Enjoy!

Thanks for everything.  We love you guys and can’t wait to see you for any special occasions the future may bring!

Krista + Scott Get Married

When San Diegans Krista and Scott wanted a romantic setting for their March nuptials, they thought of the historic San Juan Capistrano area in Orange County, CA. Set on the weekend that the swallows were set to make their fabled return, the couple’s day was full of retro, old-Hollywood style.

Yeah, you’re seeing that right. That is an artichoke in that bouquet. Cool, right?

A bevy of beauties helped Krista prepare for the big event.

Even the most intimate details were all set to go….

And the dress! Bejeweled by beads, this elegant dress is heavier than it looks, and totally worth it.

You gotta have some sassy shoes…

Krista’s mom pinned into her crinoline a very special “something old:” a little heart charm that was her very first gift from Krista’s dad during their courtship.

Krista got to carry a little of her parents’ romance with her all day.

We LOVE bridesmaids’ dresses that have a little independent spirit! Krista’s colors were also too cool for school: an elegant grey with pops of orange (check out her sister’s shoes!!!).

A mom-and-sisters shot– no one makes you laugh like your sisters.

This grand staircase at the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach gave us a little getaway for Krista’s stunning bridals.

Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready and giving Scott some last-minute advice.

Waiting patiently for her love…

She made a stunning bride.

Her groom wasn’t too shabby either…

St Regis offered so many pockets of beautiful light and quiet elegance to showcase Krista.

The First Look!

We’re always so happy when our couples see each other before the ceremony – especially when they have a chance to make it  a special and memorable moment.

He’s still sweeping her off her feet.

And then we took a little detour into the wine cellar…

Stonehill Tavern is a dead-sexy restaurant inside the St. Regis, and Scott and Krista stopped traffic there.

Then we headed off to the Casino San Clemente, a historic venue in Orange County. Our couple was married in the venue’s Rock Garden, and their guests enjoyed the festivities in its airy Grand Ballroom.

Family was tearing up the mic with some PreCeremony entertainment.

Great coordinators make for great wedding days. We have to give a shout-out to the couple’s coordinator, Katherine of Events by Katherine, who did an amazing job.  She worked tirelessly with us for months before the event to make sure everything went perfectly.  Event planners – and Katherine in specific – are worth their weight in gold.  And… we were privileged enough to shoot her wedding a few years ago!

Awaiting the arrival of the bride

Scott’s mom and dad watch as their son’s bride makes her way.

Could this papa be any prouder?

We love the little jewels of emotion hidden in a wedding day….

That, by the way, is about the cutest face we’ve seen a bride make!

Scott’s parents also looked so happy and proud.

It’s official…

And we couldn’t be happier.

This ultra-awesome wedding party humored us with shots at the old movie theatre next door.

Yep, they’re super stars.

Kritsa and Scott, starring in their own romance.

Meanwhile, the Grand Ballroom was warmly lit and welcomed the wedding guests.

The guests of honor at their grand entrance.

Ready to party!

Plenty of great toasts!

The sun sets on San Clemente.

But the party is just getting started.

Krista (with dad in the background) dropped a couple inches…

and their dance proved that warmth and sense of humor run in the family.

Scott and his mom charmed onlookers.

Cake time!

Girls just wanna have fun…

As the party continued, Krista and Scott took some time out for what matters most.

Congratulations, Krista and Scott!  You had an amazing day and we were so privileged to be there with you!

Deana + Aaron’s Engagement Session

It’s pretty cool when you get to know a couple, and you can tell why she fell in love with him, and why he fell in love with her. We recently had the pleasure of spending some time with Deana and Aaron.  Do the same, and you’ll understand.

The couple took us to their favorite spot in Encinitas, the Cedros Avenue Design District, and let us in on a little secret– they’re crazy for each other.
Aaron is a car guy, like somebody else we know….  Wait.  Yes, that’s a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder with black rims.  Thank you for asking.
The super-stylin’ couple turned heads everywhere they went.
Love is cool.
Look closely, and you can see the couple’s puppy, Whiskey, having the time of his  life on Del Mar’s North Beach (aka “Dog Beach”).
The Solana Beach Farmer’s Market provided plenty of opportunity for Aaron to show his affection for the lovely Deana.
It’s like people knew they were going to be there!
Faces in the crowd.
Two more genuine people, you’re not likely to meet.
Whiskey’s pretty cool, too!
A big thanks to the kind folks at Bellini’s Antique Italia for letting us hang out on their vintage bench….
And a very special thanks to the ladies at House Vintage, who let us use their chalkboard for a heartfelt message!
We’re stoked for both of them!

Lindsey + Kevin Get Married

A very cool couple, surrounded by family and friends, and an adorable pup (keep scrollin’ folks; she’s in there, and she is precious!) Here’s an abbreviated record of Lindsey and Kevin’s day as we experienced it.  We’re so grateful we did.

We started at Pala Mesa Resort with the ladies (wall to wall ladies stuffed into a jovial bride’s suite– did we mention that this is a super popular couple?), were joined by the gents, and headed to the main event at Wedgewood.

The rings were ready…

The dress was hung with care…

Lindsey was getting her finishing touches….

Every detail was imagined and realized…

A flock of lovely bridemaids dutifully prepped for the day.

The bride was ready to declare that she loved her groom… from the bottoms of her soles!
Getting into her dress was a family affair, with sisters and mom helping out.
Lindsey was almost ready to meet her man…

Eeeek! We love the first look. A quiet oasis at the Pala Mesa Resort made the perfect spot for a private moment.

This is why first look portraits are always some of our favorites. You can’t beat the emotion of seeing each other for the first time.
Girl! Working those shoes!
And the “fur baby” makes three. This is Lexie– the couple’s sweet dog! She was an integral part of the shoot, and totally stole the show!
Showin’ off that sass!  Breaking out the ‘tude.
What a beautiful bride…
Their last private moments before heading off for the big show!
The site at Wedgewood was carefully prepared…
And ready to receive this rockin’ bridal party!
This petal pusher was ready for her closeup.
Lindsey’s loving brother walked her down the aisle for the moment we’d all been waiting for.
Not a dry eye in the house!
In the “six degrees of Studio 512” file, we found the officiant, Gerren, whose wedding we shot (video) back in the 90’s!

He and his lovely wife JoDean now have a beautiful brood of their own!

Victory for Team Parker!!
The reception at the Wedgewood was gorgeously uplit in shades of lavender and rose. Coordinator Jessica Delaney had seen to it that it was dressed to the nines.
The bride’s new baby niece adorably upstaged everyone! Look at that face!
Hugs and kisses for the Mr. and Mrs….
This well-loved couple was saluted by family and friends.

It’s like the rest of the world didn’t even exist.

The emotion and love inherent in this event was a real testament to how this couple lives. They prioritize their loved ones, and it shows.
Time for something else that’s sweet…
This crowd was ready to party.

The ol’ Jump N Grab!

Where’s Kevin?

Alotta Love.

Thanks for letting us get to know you and celebrate with you, Lindsey and Kevin! Here’s to many years of happiness!
